How To Recover Spam Messages on Facebook Messenger

Not all messages Facebook sends to Filtered Orders are spam or junk. Some might be spam, but some might be from Facebook users you haven't added as friends. That's why Facebook doesn't call them "spam". Access Filtered orders on the main Facebook page:

• Select the Messages icon in the upper right corner of your main Facebook page or Messenger in the left navigation pane.
• Select the Gear icon to the left of Messenger, at the top of the list of people who have messaged you.
• Select Message Requests from the drop-down menu.
• Select View Filtered Requests to see all messages Facebook has moved to this folder.
• Find the spam message you are looking for and accept the message request. This will move the conversation to the normal Messenger section, where you can contact the user as you would any other. You can also copy the information if you don't want to respond immediately.
  

How To Retrieve Spam Messages in the Mobile Messenger app

You can also find message requests using the Facebook Messenger mobile app. The image below was taken with an Android phone.

• Select the People tab at the bottom of the Messenger app.
• Select Contacts in the top right corner (look for the person icon with a plus sign next to it).
• Select Request From.
• All requests and spam directed to that folder appear at the top of the resulting screen. To learn more about the sender, go to the request; the sender will not know that you have seen the message unless you accept the request. You can accept orders or click for more information. You can also copy or delete them.
