Earlier today, a brief clip began appearing on the movie screen inside the game indicating that a new Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker scene will debut at Fortnite on December 14.
Fortnite's renowned data miner, Lucas7Yoshi, theorized earlier this month that something would be broadcast on Risky Reels, but he wasn't sure what it would be. Now we know that it will be a clip of Rise of Skywalker never seen before in the game's cinema.
The Rise of Skywalker advance event will take place in Fortnite on December 14 at 11 A.M. / 2 P.M. / 8 P.M. According to the 'preview' shown in the game, J.J. Abrams will be part of the event in some way, although no other clues have been given so far.
However, this Friday Epic conducted a special in-game test for a select group of players, which seemed to indicate the test of two new features according to player reports on Twitter.
Player reports showed that some Epic developers were hanging out in Risky Reels, and Lucas7Yoshi's tweets explained that Epic might be working on some kind of server duplication feature. If the theory is correct, it would allow events on one server to be projected on all Fortnite servers, which could make the Rise of Skywalker advance event quite interesting.
In addition, a loud announcer voice was also heard in the game during the test, which led some to think that Abrams could narrate something at the Rise of Skywalker event in Fortnite. This is not the first Star Wars event that appears in Fortnite this season, but since the movie will be released soon, it could be the last.
